September 2007 Fan

This week, the judges received so many submissions they decided to first sort them in increasing order. Many types of sorts were attempted: quicksort, radix sort, deletion sort, even heapsort. But the runtime was always so slow, the sort could not complete in one week even on a very large cluster. Finally one fan suggested an optimization: use a red-black tree and take the root node as the winner. This was a very wise decision, because the root node did in fact yield the best fan for the week of September 2007.
