Jordan

aka a Thousand pictures of me in a headscarf

Hi fans, if this font hurts your eyes, you have come to the right place. Also, you should probalby read this update about Turkey First.

I will start by showing a map of our trip, which we did immediately after Turkey:

Don't worry about understanding this map- it is from Chris's website. All you really need to know is that we didn't just go on a day trip to see petra and stay in a fancy hotel. Most of the time, we slept in a trashcan and used hitchhiking to get around.

Furthermore, my favorite thing about Jordan was NOT petra. It was actually donner kebabs, which are way better than any archaeological site I've seen, even a Naebotaen site. This was my typical breakfast, lunch and dinner:

Look at that juicy inside, only 25Cents!!!

Now fans, when it comes to donner I am not picky. As long as it is under $1 I will eat at least 2 or 3. But when I saw this epitomy of utter donner perfection, I was actually willing to pay $1.50:

Just kidding, I wasn't really going to pay that much.

Anyways, my second most favorite thing about Jordan was the falafels:

After this meal, I almost died. It really reminded me about how much I hate Google lunch. How many times can they make us eat mashed potatoe with string bean?

Jordan was also really cool because I love wearing headscarf, so here we go:

By the way, this picture is also of another meal- again you will see- NO mashed potatoes or string beans. Only humus.

Ok fans, I know you're freaking out b/c so far there have not been any pictures of Petra. Calm down, here's the obligatory Petra picture. if you look closely you can see some Naebotaen tombs in the background:

Also here is the Petra library which is actually a huge tomb:

If you remember from the previous update, I had a broken foot for all of turkey. That's why chris said "let's do that really obscure Petra hike that everyone says not to do because you can get lost and die". After about 8 hours of hiking in the Petra desert, we finally found this spot, which, I must admit, is actually pretty sweet:

Can you spot the tomb in the background? actually, I look kind of pissed in this picture for a reason: no donner stands on the way.

In addition, Chris made me climb on this tomb at least 7 times to get the perfect shot

Another intersting thing about Petra was Brown University. For example, can you guess who excavated this temple?

Good job Brown, way to be the only institution ever to stick your flag into the center of world-famous archaeology site. Maybe you can stick it up my ass next time.

Ok enough about Petra. The coolest site in Jordan is actually Jerash. It is a Roman site north of Amman, and to get there you must make the following navigational choice:

Here's why Jerash is sweet: Lot's of well-preserved colonades that make my ass look huge

Later, we saw some castles, only 180 miles away from the Iraqi border!!!!

Castle 1:

Castel 2:

Back in Amman, we hit up the Starbucks with the locals:

Also, we spent some time in Wadi Rum: the desert that most tourists go to.

I look pretty sweet next to the 4wd

I also look really really hot in this picture:

Then it was time to see this arch:

And a pack of wild camels, which, understandably, made me really really excited, but not in a sexual way:

Also, Chris and I broke up at least 5 times:

We spent the night in a Bedoin camp, which was located alarmingly close a cell tower:

Now, I must explain something pretty important: I definitely had really bad diarreah in this camp!! I had to use the outhouse several times!!11 But it was nothing new for me, because after all, I like diarreah on trips- it is much better than constipation. What do you think, fans? If I knew enough xml, I would make a dynamic poll of diarreah vs constipation and gather your answers. Maybe use a satistics package to analyze the resulting trends. I will get a team on it.

We also spent some time by the dead sea and did a hike in Wadi Mujib: a nature reserve between two cliffs with water.

Brace yourself fans, here is a pic of me in a bathing suite:

Oh yea, I forgot to put this picture earlier, but here is another shot of my ass, next to the bedoins:

Also, here is an action shot on the sand dune:

In conclusion, I am very hot, but after the sand dune, I had sand in my underwear.

Back to news so full of polls about dirreah vs constipation
