The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been knocked off its perch as the number one show on Amazon Prime Video‘s top 10 list.
A new challenger has emerged, with sports enthusiasts flocking to watch the instantly popular docuseries, Evolution of the Black Quarterback.
This development might shock some followers of the series inspired by J. R.R. Tolkien’s works, considering the show is still being broadcast.
With the first seven episodes now available on Amazon Prime, the season two finale (Episode 8, title yet to be confirmed) will be released this Thursday, October 3, reports the Mirror.

However, Forbes reports that the Lord of the Rings show has slipped to #2 on Amazon Prime US, overtaken by the unexpected new series, Evolution of the Black Quarterback, which is already creating a buzz online.
Hosted by Michael Vick, the three-part documentary delves into the history of black quarterbacks in the NFL.
The synopsis states: “In celebration of how Black quarterbacks have changed the game of professional football, Michael Vick travels across America learning about the pioneers who fought for acceptance, the players who cemented their spot, and what the future of the game can hold.
“Connecting with stars like Patrick Mahomes, Cam Newton, Steve Young, Common, Andy Reid, and Jamie Foxx.”
Viewers have already taken to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to express their thoughts on the new series.
