Hezbollah Pager Explosions Across Lebanon Leave 12 Dead, Hundreds Injured
On Tuesday, a series of devastating explosions struck Hezbollah forces across Lebanon when hundreds of pagers used by the armed group exploded simultaneously. The blasts, which killed 12 people, including two children, and injured approximately 2,800, occurred in Beirut and several other regions. Among the wounded was Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, marking a significant escalation in the region’s volatile situation.
Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, confirmed that the pagers belonged to its members and accused Israel of orchestrating what it described as a “criminal aggression.” The explosions claimed the lives of eight Hezbollah fighters, prompting the group to vow retaliation. The Israeli military declined to comment on the accusations.
The following day, a second wave of attacks occurred when walkie-talkies rigged with explosives detonated, causing additional casualties. Lebanon’s health ministry reported that the second round of explosions killed several people and injured at least 300.
The attacks have intensified the already strained tensions in the region, with Hezbollah threatening retribution and Israel remaining silent on its involvement.
