Rich Homie Quan’s cause of death has been revealed nearly a month after the rapper died at his home in Atlanta.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office declared that Quan, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died at age 33 on Sept. 5 from a drug overdose of the combined effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine and promethazine, TMZ reported Tuesday.
The manner of death was ruled accidental according to the autopsy report, which also noted that Quan’s body showed no signs of trauma.
We previously reported that the autopsy had been scheduled for Sept. 6, the day after Quan’s death.
Reps for the star did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on the findings.
There had been speculation that Quan died from drug-related complications because of a post on X that his friend Boosie Badazz shared at the time.
“JUST GOT WORD @RichHomieQuan JUST OD ” the “Wipe Me Down” rapper, 41, wrote at the time.
A 911 call previously obtained by TMZ revealed how much Quan struggled in his final moments.
The Atlanta-born rapper’s girlfriend, Amber Williams, told dispatchers in the audio clip that she “didn’t feel a heartbeat” on her boyfriend and that he was unconscious.
“When I turned him over, he kind of foamed at the mouth,” she said as she broke down in tears.
Paramedics were then sent to the residence, and Quan was declared dead at the scene.
The “Lifestyle” rapper’s family was left “shattered and heartbroken by his sudden death,” per TMZ.
Social media tributes poured in shortly after the news of Quan’s death broke.
Podcaster Adam Grandmaison, known as Adam22, shared a photo of him and the “Ride Out” rapper via his Instagram Stories and captioned it, “RIP Rich Homie Quan.”
Rapper Lil’ Kim also shared a tribute on Instagram, in which she wrote, “This is the part of life that I’ll never get used to, I’m so heartbroken.
“No one ever understood the dope ass friendship u and I had. u always pulled up for me no matter what. I’ve learned in life love those who love you. Rest in Heaven my angel @richhomiequan.”
