Pop star Sabrina Carpenter faced her lip syncing allegations allegations head on as some fans accused her of only singing during her concerts ’40 percent of the time’
Sabrina Carpenter hit back at her haters after a newly posted TikTok went viral accusing her of lip syncing during her live shows “40 percent of the time.”
The Espresso hitmaker was not standing for any slander as she came across a post that claimed she was lip syncing during a performance on her Short n Sweet Tour. In the concert footage, which gartered hundreds and thousands of views on TikTok, the pop star was seen dancing on stage in a sparkly pink outfit as she sang along to her chart-topping song Please Please Please.
Over the clip, the user was responding to a comment that read: “Does she ever sing live” and wrote: “Hate to say it but 30% lip singing 30% back track 40% singing.” And after the clip circulated, the 25-year-old artist herself took to the comments to address the rumors head on.
Under the post, Sabrina boldly commented: “I sing every show 100% would you like to speak to my audio engineers” – a comment that was met with over 266k likes. Under the post, Sabrina was met with a mix of comments with some rallying in support of the rising star standing up for herself and others who thought she still has room for improvement.

Reacting to Sabrina’s iconic reply, one fan wrote: “oh Sabrina stood on BUSINESS.” And another added: “I would not be going public ever again if she called me out like that.” And a third chimed in: “Lmaooo Sabrina clocking it in the comments.” And another sarcastically said: “Congrats! Sabrina noticed you.”
One fan defending Sabrina wrote: “Yall don’t know how hard it is to dance/run around and sing super loud – she also is hitting some notes that take A LOT of air and if you are dancing and moving around a lot it’s gonna be really hard.” And while many agreed with this sentiment, other critics claimed that Sabrina could learn from some other famous pop stars.

One user wrote: “Maybe it’s certain people that can’t. I’ve seen plenty of artists dance, head bang, jump around, hang upside down etc. and sing 100% live and sound good.” And another added: “that’s what I’m saying. Beyonce gave everyone the cheat code 20 years ago by singing on the treadmill.”
While someone else chimed in: “Yup! That’s a great vocal exercise. It takes time and effort. If Sabrina wanted to improve she could. Miley Cyrus, T. Swift, Lizzo, all train like that as well and improved over the years.” And someone else mentioned: “Pink freaking flies around the whole arena while singing and she’s older…” While another critic harshly added: “it’s not like it’s some unachievable task. if Sabrina wanted to put in the wok she would. but she can’t be bothered. it’s pure laziness.”
