Matthew Perry’s former on-screen girlfriend Paget Brewster is taking a trip down memory lane as she re-watches ‘Friends’ again for the first time since the beloved actor’s death

Matthew Perry’s former on-screen girlfriend Paget Brewster has documented her nostalgic experience watching Friends for the first time since the actor’s heartbreaking death.

Paget, who played the character of Kathy during season four of the hit comedy sitcom where she played the short-lived girlfriend of Chandler Bing – Matthew Perry’s famed character on the show. The pair sparked up a romance after Chandler approached her at the Central Perk while she’s sitting alone at a table, unknowingly waiting to go on a date with his roommate Joey. She agrees, and this leads to a fiery feud between the pair, but eventually Chandler and Kathy end up together – until their romance crashes and burns due to Chandler’s jealousy.

After their dramatic whirlwind romance on the show, Paget decided to rewatch the episodes as she continues to grieve the loss of the beloved actor. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the actress shared: “I haven’t watched Friends since Matthew died. But I am watching now, I love it,” and relatably added: “And I need shows to fall asleep to or my brain will keep churning out awful s—- to be afraid of.”

This comes as the Criminal Minds star previously spoke out about Matthew’s death on social media penning a heartfelt tribute to her on-screen lover. After the devastating news broke, Paget took to X and wrote: “I’m so very sad to hear about @MatthewPerry. He was lovely to me on Friends, and every time I saw him in the decades after.”

The 55-year-old actress continued: “Please read his book [the memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.]. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace, though… He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there.”

The actor was found dead face-down in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home in Los Angeles on October 28 afternoon at the age of 54 years old. The Hollywood star’s cause of death was due to the “acute effects of ketamine” which he was allegedly taking as medication to help deal with his addiction, depression, and anxiety. Since his death, five people, including two doctors, have been charged in connection with his death with three pleading guilty.
