P Diddy and Jennifer Lopez found themselves in handcuffs together during their romantic involvement.
In 1999, Diddy was apprehended following a shooting incident in New York City that had occurred eight years earlier. Forbes detailed how the disagreement escalated, resulting in gunfire with three individuals wounded.
The couple fled the scene, leading to a police pursuit. Reports emerged of a stolen firearm discovered in their vehicle, leading to both Jennifer Lopez and Combs being arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property – however, charges against Lopez were dismissed overnight.
Additional bribery charges were leveled at P Diddy, as it was claimed he attempted to bribe the car’s driver with a hefty $50,000 to claim ownership of the gun. Ultimately, he was acquitted and no one was held accountable or convicted for the shooting.

The “Jenny From The Block” singer has seldom discussed the incident since her arrest, although she briefly referenced it during a 2000 interview with British ELLE. Clearly taken aback by the events, she confessed the entire ordeal “was a complete nightmare.”
“I had absolutely no idea what was going on. No-one did.”
Lopez and Combs had an intermittent relationship from 1999 to 2001. In a 2014 conversation with Access Hollywood, JLo credited the rapper for teaching her many life lessons, stating he “gave her so many cues and taught her so many things.”
At the time, she expressed that she still held “so much mutual respect and admiration” for the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ maestro. Yet, a mere two years post-split, Jennifer found herself completely shattered over their parting ways.
Opening up to Vibe magazine, Lopez divulged: “It was the first time I was with someone who wasn’t faithful. I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy and going nuts. It really took my whole life in a tailspin.”
She also explained to Vibe Magazine that kids weren’t on the table for the pair since she could recognize just how unsteady they were. J.Lo told the publication: “I had to think, do I want to be home with kids in 10 years wondering where somebody is at three in the morning?”
