Justin Bieber is fed up with fans yelling at his shows, and therefore prohibiting them from making a real “connection” to him while he performs. At least, that’s what he said after he dropped his mic and stormed off stage during his concert in Manchester yesterday. This is the second time in two weeks that Justin has pulled something like this. Prior, he had told his fans their yelling was “just so obnoxious.”
In the clip that’s been circulating around social media, you see Justin wander off to the corner of the stage, and then you hear his mic hit the floor. When he eventually did return to the stage, he said to the audience: “My point of the no screaming thing is so that when I’m looking at you in the eyes, you can actually know that we’re having a moment and having a connection… So it’s not me trying to be an asshole.”
Though we can try to be empathetic — it is frustrating to be interrupted — we also cannot forget that Justin has a developing history of telling fans they are doing random things wrong. (He’s also stopped their clapping mid-performance because it was “off rhythm.”) This is yet another incident of this nature on the Purpose tour, and we’re hoping it’s the last.
