Martha Stewart has admitted to cheating on her ex-husband Andrew Stewart during their 29-year marriage.
The 83-year-old made the bombshell confession in the trailer for her upcoming Netflix documentary, Martha. In the video, she was seen speaking to the camera as she gave young women some helpful relationship advice.
“Young women, listen to my advice, if you’re married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he’s a piece of s—. Get out of that marriage,” she encouraged.
However, the producer shot back: “Didn’t you have an affair early on?” Martha didn’t miss a beat as she replied: “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
Martha and Andrew started dating after being set up on a blind date and they went on to tie the knot in 1961. They welcomed one child together, daughter Alexis Stewart, before divorcing in 1990.
Martha has previously opened up about the affect the divorce had on her. “Getting divorced was a terrible thing for me, because we were the first to divorce in my family,” she admitted to People Magazine.
She added: “And that we haven’t spoken since the divorce is even more painful. But I’m very strong, and I’m very motivated to get on with life.”
Following their divorce, Martha briefly dated Silence of the Lambs star Anthony Hopkins. She also dated software architect Charles Simonyi on and off for 15 years, from 1993 to 2008.

Andrew went on to marry Martha’s former assistant Robyn Fairclough. The pair divorced and he went on to marry Shyla Nelson Stewart.
Martha’s new Netflix documentary features a series of interviews with the beloved businesswoman and follows her life from a teenage model to the original influencer and America’s first self-made female billionaire.
Viewers will also be given insight into how Martha rebranded herself after being sent to prison for insider trading in 2004. Speaking about her prison stint, she said: “The cookie cutter house and the cookie cutter life, that was not for me.
“I could’ve just been a miserable, has-been housewife, but I didn’t let that happen to myself.” She added: “I was a trophy for these idiots. Those prosecutors should’ve been put in a Cuisinart and turned on high.”
“Martha” premieres on October 30 on Netflix.
