former President Trump’s family has invited 275 Florida electricians to stay for free at his resort, creating conditions for them to overcome the consequences of Hurricane Milton.
Hurricane Milton made landfall on the west coast of Florida on the evening of October 9 as a Category 3 storm, with winds of more than 120 mph. Before the storm made landfall, the Trump National Doral Miami resort invited 275 electricians to stay for free.
“It was an honor to welcome 275 Florida Power Company (FPL) employees to the Doral Miami resort. These are the people who are ready to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. You are amazing, the Trump family and the entire state of Florida appreciate you. Rest in the best accommodations in the state. Take care,” Eric Trump, son of former President Donald Trump, posted on social media.
FPL is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States and the largest in the state of Florida. It serves millions of Florida customers, providing electricity to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. FPL plays a vital role in restoring power during emergencies such as hurricanes.
“This is another example of the generosity and kindness the Trump family demonstrates every day. They truly care about the American people,” said Karoline Leavitt, press secretary for the Trump campaign.
Trump National Doral Miami is a complex of accommodation and golf club, with nearly 700 rooms ranging from standard to presidential, with prices ranging from 251-8,251 USD per night.
Hurricane Milton brought heavy rain, strong winds, and severe flooding, killing at least 14 people and leaving about 3 million households without power.
Two weeks ago, Florida and other southeastern states were devastated by Hurricane Helene, which killed at least 235 people. It was the second deadliest storm in the United States, after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which killed nearly 1,400 people.
Mr. Trump and his allies have repeatedly attacked the current administration for its poor handling of the storms, while President Joe Biden has criticized his predecessor for making a series of false statements.
