Sean Combs, also known as P Diddy, is currently being held at a Brooklyn jail and his lawyers have spoken out about how the rapper is managing life while being incarcerated
P Diddy’s attorney has disclosed the “toughest” aspect of prison life that’s making the rapper eager to leave. Reports have surfaced that Sean Combs is having a hard time with the prison cuisine.
The rapper finds himself behind bars as he faces allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has recently opened up about Combs’ condition in jail.
Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, Combs is being detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, with his trial scheduled for May 5, 2025 and his bail being denied. Agnifilo remarked: “I think the food’s probably the roughest part of it.”
Anthony L. Ricco also noted that Combs is “making an adjustment” during this challenging period. Ricco commented: “Sometimes, the more you push a person down, the stronger they get. Nobody’s OK with staying in jail,” reports the Mirror.
An E! News-acquired Federal Bureau of Prisons handbook reveals that the facility provides “regular, heart healthy and no-flesh dietary options” and inmates can also buy food from the commissary. The commissary’s offerings include items like tuna in chili sauce, honey buns, cashews, instant grits, protein bars, and spam.
Given the gravity of the accusations against him, if convicted of racketeering, trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, Combs faces at least 15 years in prison. Alternatively, he could receive a life sentence if the judge opts for a harsher punishment.
Combs made an appearance in court on Thursday and was seen for the first time donning prison attire. Courtroom artists sketched the music mogul, presenting him in a strikingly different image than his signature fashion, wearing a bland, oversized prison shirt during the evidentiary hearing for his trial.

The 54-year-old stood next to his legal team and supposedly offered a fleeting smile at the sight of his mother and some of his kids in the gallery, who were there to offer their support amid the allegations of abuse from 120 women. As they entered the courtroom, Combs’ family faced boos and jeers from observers outside, with some flinging accusatory chants towards his 84-year-old mother, Janice.
Post-hearing, Diddy was escorted back to jail, having been refused bail twice already, despite a proposed $50 million bond.
His attorneys are currently challenging his bail for the third occasion, with the matter now pending before the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
