Kristen DiMercurio has voiced audiobooks, commercials, video games and voicemails – and is also the voice of Bluetooth
The woman who is the voice of Bluetooth says she’s recognized all over the worldbut only when she speaks as nobody knows her face.
Kristen DiMercurio, the voice behind Bluetooth’s familiar phrases such as “Bluetooth connected” and “your Bluetooth device is ready to pair”, said her appearance remains unknown. The 32-year-old, who has lent her voice to audiobooks, commercials, video games, and voicemails, often finds herself recognized for her “Bluetooth connected” phrase on social media.
She even admits to startling herself when she hears her own voice in public. Kristen, from Los Angeles, said: “People recognize my voice from audiobooks, podcasts, commercials – my voice is everywhere.”

“I tell people that I am not a famous voice actor but you have probably heard from me multiple times. I have jump-scared myself a few times.”
Kristen, who had a passion for theatre growing up and studied musical theatre at Emerson College from 2010 until 2014, initially wanted to work in theatre post-graduation.
However, knowing the typically low pay in theatre and living in New York City, she ventured into voice acting. Kristen recalled: “I went onto an alumni Facebook chat and asked if anyone knew any voice-over classes.”
“My friend asked if I wanted to audition for his audio project called Ars Paradoxia – a fictional podcast. I thought nobody would listen to it and it has blown up.”
“I thought ‘wow, this could really be a thing’.” Kristen then “jumped” at every opportunity she could find. She has lent her voice to audiobooks, TV commercials, podcasts, and Bluetooth devices.

‘I cut out all processed food for nine months – now I have a problem’
Kristen shared that people love the idea of her being their device and she often gets recognized on social media. “I am more recognized on social media, strangers don’t come up to me and say they recognize my voice as the Bluetooth device is not my usual one.”
“I will get recognized for audiobooks, and video games like WWE – whenever you hit a woman in one of those games it is me.”
