Janet Jackson mourned the passing of her brother in a recent social media post. Tito Jackson died last month at the age of 70 after a life filled with music
After the death of her brother, Tito Jackson, Janet Jackson honored him with a short and sweet tribute.
“May you rest in eternal peace I miss you so much!” she wrote on Instagram. Janet posted the touching words alongside a black and white photo of their younger selves where her late brother was wearing a fedora and a printed shirt.
Janet and Tito were a part of the iconic Jackson 5 alongside their pop sensation brother, Michael Jackson. The additional siblings included Jermaine, Marlon, and Jackie. After leaving a lasting legacy in music, Tito died at age 70 on Sept. 15 while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma.
Police did not yet specify his exact cause of death, but Tito’s nephew, Manning, claimed he likely suffered a heart attack. Details about his death are still being investigated, but no foul play is suspected at this time.

Tito’s sons, who make up the band 3T, additionally confirmed the passing of their father. On their joint Instagram page, they wrote: “Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being. Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as ‘Coach Tito’ or some know him as ‘Poppa T.’ Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us.”
Jonathan ‘Sugarfoot’ Moffett, the former drummer for the Jackson 5, expressed his shock and sadness on Facebook, saying: “There is great, great sadness in my heart, spirit, and soul tonight. My wife and I just left and walked out of a movie we were watching at a theater just now….as she received a text from a very close friend….that my brother in heart and spirit, Tito Jackson has just passed away.”
“I’m stunned and devastated to receive and hear this disheartening news. I love Tito like my brothers of blood relation. I’m stunned and dismayed. May God and Jesus Christ receive his soul and spirit with open out stretched arms and welcome him into Heaven’s gate…this is my most sincere prayer this night, this day, this month, and now….this year. I’m at a loss of spirits.”
Producer Questlove also paid tribute, saying: “All of the Jackson brothers are heroes to me. I really don’t have the words right now. May the entire Jackson family find comfort & peace In this moment. Thank You Tito.”
