Former One Direction member, Liam Payne, reportedly offered a hotel guest a cuddle shortly before his tragic death. The world was shocked when it was confirmed that the 31-year-old had died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16.
As more details emerge, it’s reported that he had asked a fan for a “cuddle.” A fan at the hotel claims to have had a half-hour chat with the former boy band star.
She snapped photos of him at 4:26 pm local time. These pictures were taken less than an hour before Liam’s death was confirmed, with an ambulance arriving on scene at 5:11pm.

Speaking to Mail Online, a fan named Rebecca (not her real name) said a friend of hers was supposed to be getting the star’s suite, but he hadn’t checked out. She described the hotel staff as being “a little on edge” with the situation and Liam’s behavior.
She claimed he seemed to want people to recognize him, but her friend group wasn’t that bothered. She said: “When the lift came he suddenly said to us without any prompting: ‘Yes, I’m Liam!’ really drawing it out, and then said ‘All right come on you lot, get in the elevator with me, I love a cuddle,'” reports the Mirror.
Rebecca said she decided against accepting his request and instead waited for the next lift. Some of the other girls, however, are said to have gotten in the elevator and spoke about being American with him.
She alleged that Liam had playfully grabbed a girl, who she assumed was with him, and pretended to lightly choke her. “The others thought it was really disturbing.” She continued, stating that she returned to the lobby about 10 minutes later, was closely followed by Liam. According to her, he had been perusing emails on a couch.
“Then he opened his emails and saw one which obviously upset him,” she further added. “Suddenly he took the computer, shouted ‘f— this s— mate!’ and started smashing the computer on the floor.”
His reaction reportedly stunned both staff and guests. Rebecca mentioned that she approached him to inquire if he was okay, to which he responded: “I used to be in a boyband. That’s why I’m so f—-d up.'” In an official statement released to The Associated Press, police authorities confirmed that Liam “jumped from the balcony of his room,” seemingly dismissing any suggestions of an accidental fall or foul play. A preliminary autopsy revealed he died from “multiple traumas” resulting in “internal and external bleeding” after the fall.
