Liam Payne, the late singer who tragically died at 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, reportedly left rehab after just two days. He had checked into The Priory in July to begin a 28-day program, but is believed to have walked out after only 48 hours.

This decision reportedly devastated his close friends and family, as they saw it as him giving up on “overcoming his addictions.”

The One Direction member had been candid about his struggles previously, even discussing his sobriety with TV personality Paddy McGuinness. Despite his desire to get his life back on track, he reportedly struggled.

It’s said that the Teardrops singer had enrolled in The Priory in London and had begun a detox program. However, sources claim that Liam rarely left his room and did not participate in classes with others receiving treatment.

It’s believed that he used prescription medication  provided by medical professionals to assist his withdrawal from alcohol and substances. A source told The Sun: “Family and management did everything they could, Liam was loved, adored and incredibly talented.” They added that despite everyone “rooting for him,” reports the Mirror.

He “couldn’t beat his demons” and he “confronted his issues head-on, hoping to get back on track,” they concluded.

This comes after reports came on Wednesday that Liam had passed away. Police are said to have been called to reports at the hotel of a “man acting aggressively at the hotel who could be under the effect of drink or drugs.”

It’s believed that Liam fell and suffered “very serious injuries incompatible with life.” Police say the music stars hotel room had been “in complete disarray” with “various items broken.” A whiskey bottle, lighter and mobile phone had been retrieved from the internal hotel courtyard where Liams body was found.
