Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has broken her silence as she shared a heartfelt tribute following her boyfriend’s young tragic death.
The influencer shared a heartfelt message in memory of Liam Payne, who she dated for two years, following his untimely death this week. The One Direction star passed away after falling from the third story of his hotel balcony just two days after she abruptly left their Argentinian vacation together.
In the emotional tribute post on her Instagram Story, Kate expressed her deep love and adoration for the musician. She penned: “Thank you for all the kind words and love that has been sent my way. I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private.”

Kate then addressed Liam personally as she sweetly wrote: “Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I love you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life.” She concluded the post: “I love you Liam.” In the right hand corner of the post, she wrote: “444” followed by a red heart emoji.
This update comes as Kate was one of the last people seen with Liam before his heartbreaking death at 31 years old. In the days leading up to Liam’s death, the couple were seen vacationing in Argentina together and attending his former band mate Niall Horan’s concert together.
But as Kate approached week two of exploring the South American country, she admitted she was growing restless and wanted to return home to Florida. In a TikTok update, she said that she was flying back home while Liam stayed behind, but did not give any further details. She simpy explained: “I was so ready to leave. Love South America, but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for five days, turned into two weeks and I was just like, ‘I need to go home.'”
In the days leading up to his death, Kate was facing backlash online with critics accusing her of using Liam for his money rather than truly being in love. Liam refused to let this behavior slide and went on address her haters on his own Instagram Story, where he also confessed his deep love for her.
In the post, he said: “Gotta say you could tell me anything and I couldn’t be turned. I’ve never felt a love like I do for Katelyn. We make each other better people,” and added: “If it was just for the money, I’d give her all of it,” and clarified: “It’s not though (please remember I’m hella sexy) and I know I’m fun and a loveable person. And I don’t give a f— to say that for the first time in my life I’m happy to be me and that’s priceless.”
Speaking on their relationship, Liam once confidently said in 2019 MTV News interview: “I’m kind of at the place in my life now where I just realize it’s not worth sacrificing my happiness just because somebody might see something,” adding, “I don’t have anything to hide.”
