Sean P. Diddy Combs’ parties have gone from being viewed as enviable events to sinister soirees after details of his infamous freak off parties emerged following the rappers arrest.
Diddy, whose once legendary White Parties in the Hamptons earned him the party king title, is facing judgment after it was alleged that there was rampant sexual abuse at his functions. Throughout the years, even before the Bad Boy Records freak off party scandal erupted, there has been lore surrounding the shindigs that he threw. At certain points during the Ill Be Missing You rappers career, he has seemingly addressed the ominous rumors.
Diddy admitted when he spoke to Vibe Magazine that his events could be intimidating to some, The Hindustan Times reported.
‘I went to Diddy’s party with scantily-clad women – what I saw will stay with me forever’
Kim Porter’s ‘bizarre’ reaction to Diddy’s ‘X-rated’ display at Parisian nightclub
He seemed to predict before his arrest that he knew that his parties would ignite issues given how it became increasingly challenging to host them.
They wont even give me a permit for the parties no more, he recalled during an interview with Vibe magazine. They dont want me to throw the parties no more, but we aint gonna stop. We gonna keep on having fun bringing people together from all walks of life
Diddy added: Youre gonna hear about my partiesTheyre gonna be shutting them down. Theyre gonna probably be arresting me, doing all types of crazy things just cause we wanna have a good time.
The businessman also noted to the news outlet: Whenever you bring up a different element into peoples environment, things that broaden peoples horizons, people get intimidated.
Despite the backlash he was getting then for his parties, he wasnt swayed by it one bit.
Its a lot of people out there that feel intimidated by itIts cool, Diddy expressed. It doesnt make me feel any way special. It doesnt make me feel like a bigger person. It just makes me feel like I know how to throw a party.
Although children were allowed at his parties, their time was always limited. In one video from a Diddy party that recently resurfaced, the music-maker can be heard informing the young ones in attendance that they would soon have to make an exit.
The kids have an hour left. Get extra comfortable, kids, because after that, yall got to go. Its a wrap for yall, Diddy said, explaining that after an hour the social scene would become for adults only.
Ex Bad Boy Records Publicity Director LaJoyce Brookshire attended many of Diddys parties, and she spoke on them with Vulture.
I know that theres no safety after a certain hour when youve got drinks flowing, and people behind your back doing drugs in bathrooms, and two or three people walking out of a bathroom together, she told the news outlet.
Diddy was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for purposes of prostitution in mid-September, and hes pleaded not guilty to all of his charges.
Hes currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, as he awaits trial. Diddys trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025.
