Turning to mystery and intrigue, Netflix audiences are becoming hooked on a series some are hailing an “absolute masterpiece”. Whispers started trending in the Netflix bangers Facebook group earlier this month as lovers of the cult hit couldn’t contain their excitement over what’s been called the “best ever” series.
A post revealed that fans are spellbound by the intricate brainteasers presented by the show, hinting you might need to flex your “high IQ” to piece together its enigmas.
The talk of the stream is Dark, making waves since 2017 when it premiered as the first original German-language series on Netflix, reports the Daily Record.
Its blurb teases: “When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids.
“The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town’s troubled history – whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986.”
Boasting a stellar 95% critic score and 94% audience approval on Rotten Tomatoes, Dark sits among the most critically acclaimed series on the platform.
The series showcases a vast cast, including Louis Hofmann and Lisa Vicari, who shine as protagonists Jonas Kahnwald and Martha Nielsen.
One fan commented on the complexity of the TV series, jokingly stating: “It needs a high IQ or else you’ll get lost in the DARK.” (sic)
