Billy Zane shocks fans as he looks unrecognizable after transforming into Marlon Brando in new film.Vuong

Billy Zane fans have been left in disbelief after seeing his transformation into Marlon Brando for the new biopic Waltzing With Brando.

The Phantom star, 58, will portray Brando during the period the late actor was preparing for some of his most well-known roles, including The Godfather. The film is based on a memoir written by architect Bernard Judge.

Newly released images from Waltzing With Brando have shown Zane looking unrecognizable as he portrayed Brando preparing for his role as Vito Corleone in The Godfather.

Taking to X, one shocked fan said: “You couldve said this was a photo of marlon brando and i wouldve believed it.” Another urged: “Give him the damn Oscar.”

“No way this is Billy Zane. Is this a transformation like Colin Farrell in The Penguin? I can’t recognize him,” a third fan commented. Someone else suggested: “This might be the greatest casting of all time”

A fifth fan admitted they’re excited to watch the film after seeing Zane’s transformation, writing: “Wow!! It took me a minute to realize that this pic wasn’t Marlon Brando. I was looking for an article link that would show me Billy. That’s wild! That’s gonna be good!”

Someone else gushed: “My God! Thats astonishing!” Waltzing With Brando will tell the story of how the late actor discovered his architect Bernard Judge and convinced him to build the world’s first ecologically perfect retreat on the Tahitian island of Tetiaroa.

Giulio Base, artistic director of the Torino Film Festival, where the film will premiere, had nothing but good things to say about Zane’s portrayal. “You won’t believe it: he is possessed by Brando,” he told Variety.

This year’s Torino Film Festival will begin on November 22. Waltzing With Brando will be the festival’s closing film and will premiere on November 30.
