On Monday evening, Means climbed over a safety guard rail and took a tumble over the waterfall around Luna Island, the New York State Police said.

She was reportedly a mother of three, though where her other child was at the time of the incident remains unclear. The incident comes over a year and a half after an Illinois mother suffered the same fate, falling over the railing with her 5-year-old son, who lived but was critically injured after the 90-foot tumble.
The state police haven’t identified that 34-year-old woman, nor have they determined whether the incident was the result of an attempt by the mother to end her life and that of her child or simply an accident.
