Dorit Kemsley detailed her 10-year-old son’s “difficult” battle with “septic hip” that resulted in the child being hospitalized for weeks.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star shared the update with fans in a lengthy message shared to her Instagram on Friday. The post featured pics of herself and Jagger, as well as her estranged husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, and their daughter Phoenix, 8, dressed as “The Flintstones” for Halloween.
“The past month has been very difficult for our family,” Dorit, 48, wrote.
The mom of two shared that Jagger underwent two surgeries in under a week for a septic hip and had to remain in the hospital for nearly two weeks — only to encounter another setback when they thought the worst was behind them.
The ailment, also known as septic arthritis, is a painful infection in a joint that can come from germs that travel through one’s bloodstream from another part of the body, according to the Mayo Clinic.
“Luckily, this incredibly brave, courageous little boy is a fighter (like Rocky, as he would say ) and we were able to enjoy Halloween like he desperately wanted to,” she wrote.
She added, “That made this Halloween extra special for all of us. .”
The Bravolebrity praised the health workers at the hospital for “all the love and support” and shared how “grateful” she was for the doctors and nurses involved in her son’s recovery.
“I’m in awe and so proud of our little munchkin, his strength, positive mindset and can do attitude he’s maintained through everything he’s been through,” she said. “Feeling blessed and hopeful that better days lay ahead. Yabadaba dooo from the Flintstones! .”
