Liam Payne’s body to be flown back to UK today – three weeks after tragic death.Vuong

Former One Direction singer Liam Payne’s body is expected to return to UK today, three weeks after his tragic death in Argentina.

As it approaches one-month mark since the untimely demise of the beloved singer, Liam Payne’s remains have been flown into his home country where his funeral service held later in the week. The mournful news swept across the globe when Liam tragically lost his life at 31 years old on October 16, succumbing to injuries sustained from a balcony fall in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Plans for a private commemoration honoring the X Factor alum are underway, succeeding waves of global vigils by grieving fans. With the funeral looming, the BBC has confirmed that Liams body is slated for transport back to Britain on November 6.

Despite ongoing official proceedings in Argentina, including toxicology and additional examinations, Liam’s remains have been released, with public prosecutor Andres Madrea providing details to the national broadcaster. During this difficult period, his devastated father Geoff Payne has remained in Argentina, where the calamity unfolded.

Last month’s autopsy findings pointed to “multiple traumas” and “internal and external hemorrhage” as causes of death, with the case still deemed “inconclusive death” by Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No 16. Last week, it emerged that the body of Liam had been transferred from a Buenos Aires mortuary to the iconic British Cemetery situated in the Argentinian capital’s northern region. This move ensued post the green light his devastated dad Geoff received from prosecutors.

The esteemed Argentinian newspaper La Nacion disclosed that in a recent rendezvous with the head prosecutor Andres Madrea, Geoff was briefed that he could bring Liam’s remains back to the UK two weeks subsequent to his South American arrival in the aftermath of his son’s harrowing hotel plunge.

The publication reported: “All the documents are ready for the former One Direction singer to return to his homeland so a funeral can take place there next week. When Geoff Payne reached Argentina on October 18 he was told the repatriation process could take between four and five days, but because of the circumstances surrounding his son’s death things took longer than expected.”

In the wake of Liam’s repatriation unfolding, reports detail fresh police raids by Argentinian officials linked to the lamented singer’s demise. TMZ has disclosed, citing sources in Buenos Aires law enforcement, the operations were executed Tuesday evening at residences of two hotel staff members and a “friend” of Liam.

It is said that during these searches, cops probed the hotel lockers belonging to the implicated employees, as well as combing through security footage from CasaSur Palermo hotel, where Liam suffered his fatal balcony tumble from his third-floor accommodation on October 16.

A fried of the singer was also identified through text messages, and investigations are underway to determine who might have supplied the drugs. The friend whom the police wanted to question was not present during the raid.

This marks the second wave of raids, following an earlier one at the hotel last month where electronic and paper records, as well as videos of the hotel’s underground area, were seized. A post-mortem examination revealed that Liam died from head injuries sustained during his fall.
