The movie is set to premiere on November 30, with many fans not impressed by the idea
The Kansas City Chiefs are fully buying into the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift love story, and they have perhaps gone one too far.
The Chiefs have released a trailer for their Hallmark new Christmas movie.
‘Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,’ that is inspired by the Kelce and Swift romance.
The movie features Hunter King and Tyler Hynes, who play Kelce and Swift, while Kelce’s mother Donna also features.
Donna plays the role of manager at a BBQ restaurant named Norma & Nic’s, and she is pictured wearing a Chiefs jersey with the Kelce name on her back.
Chiefs president Mark Donavan has said: “We are extremely grateful for the entire Hallmark team and the unique hometown partnership that’s been created around our two brands and this movie.
“With the excitement of the start of the football season, and the holiday season on the horizon.
“There is no better way to highlight this partnership and announce the premiere date than to leverage one of Kansas City’s biggest parties – Chiefs gameday.”
Fans hit back
The movie is set to premiere on November 30, and while the Chiefs franchise might be building it up, fans on social media are not as convinced.
One fan wrote: “I’ll pass.” Another said: “Omg – the existence of this movie makes me want to hide under my desk.”
A fan of another team wrote: “The most annoying team in football,” while another wrote: “The only NFL team to get a crappy Hallmark movie because of Tay Tay.”
