Two Louisiana women found dead in murder-suicide as man arrested for ‘destroying evidence’.Vuong

Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in a home in Lake Charles, Louisiana, after discovering the bodies of two women. A man connected to the case was arrested for allegedly destroying evidence.

Deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office were responding to a reported hostage situation at a Topsy Road residence around 8:00 p.m., when they heard a gunshot.

The Sheriffs Office ACT-Team was summoned to the scene, and after securing the premises, they found the bodies of two women, Dahlen Semar, 23, and Madison Guillory, 23, both from Lake Charles. An investigation is currently underway as detectives try to piece together the events leading up to the tragic discovery.

It turned out that Gabriel B. Williams, 24, also of Lake Charles, had made the complaint. Police say he had given the deputies false and misleading information. After contacting law enforcement, he also allegedly tried to destroy evidence in the case.

Consequently, he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center for obstruction of justice and failure to report certain felonies. His bond is pending.

Sheriff Stitch Guillory declared that, “We were able to recover some evidence from our complainant that let us know that he knew a little bit more than what he was letting on to as to what transpired inside the residence,” Guillory revealed.

Williams was apprehended for obstructing justice and failing to report certain felonies. However, he has been eliminated as a suspect in the shooting itself. Currently held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Williams is waiting to have his bond set.

Sheriff Guilory underscored that the probe is far from closed, stating, “We believe this is an isolated incident,” before issuing a poignant reminder: “I want to take this time to remind everyone in our community that help is available for those who may be experiencing hard times. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for support.”

The sheriff directed anyone in need to get in touch with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, accessible by texting or calling 988.
