Speaking to reporters following last Saturdays victory, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders insisted that Hunters film speaks for itself. I aint gonna sit up here and give no message to Heisman voters who is undecided, he said. If they cant see, they cant see. It is what it is. I mean, Travis is who he is. Its supposed to go to the best college football player. I think thats been a wrap since, what? Week 2?
So, we aint petitioning for nobody. We aint doing that. We got a wonderful display of cameras here, and I think we on national television every week. If they cant see it, something is a problem. Dont allow their hatred for me to interfere with our kids success. They got to stop that. Yall got to stop. Some of yall like that. Yall got to stop that, man. Get the kids what they deserve, man.
Deions son, Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, expressed a similar sentiment, saying of Hunter: Hes the best player in the country, hands down no doubt. Its not a lot of guys who can do what he do on offense and defense.
So, its really tough to compare him to anybody else, cuz I feel like if he was at a different program they dont like us so much, they hate on us too. So its real hard and it makes me sad that they dont give a guy like him his credit because thats generational. It aint going to happen again for a long time.
