The Las Vegas Raiders suffered their seventh consecutive loss in Week 12, losing to the Denver Broncos 29-19 in what was another depressing performance from the offense.

The Raiders are a few weeks removed from firing former offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, but that change has not garnered the results the team and head coach Antonio Pierce were hoping for.

In fact, you can actually make the argument that the offense is getting worse. In the two games prior to Getsys firing, the Raiders were at least able to score 20 or more points in those contests. In the two games since Getsys firing, the offense, which is now led by Scott Turner, has failed to score 20 points in each game.

Pierce was clearly frustrated following Sundays loss, and while he didnt name any of his coaches specifically, he made it quite clear he is not happy with the Turners pass-heavy approach on Sunday.

Of course, Pierce said when asked if he wanted to run the ball more, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic. I dont want to see the ball thrown 40 times. Ive said that like a thousand times, but thats been kind of our MO. Actually, it was 53 today.

While its never ideal to call out your coach publicly like that, Pierce does have a legitimate reason to be frustrated.

Las Vegas threw the ball 53 times to just 16 rushes in Week 12, which was a bit strange because the Raiders werent getting blown out and Raiders backs were actually having some success with 4.7 yards per carry.

If were playing devils advocate, the Raiders rushing attack has stunk all season long, so a more pass-heavy approach isnt exactly outlandish. However, Turner shouldve utilized the run a bit more after seeing some success on Sunday.

Perhaps Pierce needs to take control of the situation and urge his interim offensive coordinator to run the ball more. Maybe his public criticism was his way of doing that, but its the wrong way to go about it.
