Lyle Menendezs wife, Rebecca Sneed, is setting the record straight on their relationship status.
The attorney wrote via Facebook Friday that she and her husband have been separated for awhile now (per E! News).
However, she clarified that they remain best friends and family.
Sneed added, I continue to run his Facebook pages, with input from him, and I am forever committed to the enduring fight for Lyle and Eriks freedom, as has been so evident over the years.
Ill continue to update you all on the progress of the case because I believe we all have the common goal of seeing the guys walk free! she concluded. I will never stop fighting for them.
Sneed also insisted that her and Lyles breakup was NOT caused by a cheating scandal.
The Sun reported last week that the convicted murderer, 56, was having an affair with a 21-year-old University of Manchester student.
Lyle released a statement on Nov. 7 about navigating his challenging marriage as he learn[ed] to be a husband and a partner from behind bars.
This coming November will be my 20th wedding anniversary, he wrote. [Sneeds] unwavering support and belief in me is something I am most grateful for and has played no small part in my journey to be a better person.
Lyle and Sneed tied the knot in November 2003 while he and his brother, Erik Menendez, were serving time for their parents 1989 murders.
The siblings were sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1996.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch played Lyle and Erik, respectively, in Netflixs recent portrayal of the crime and subsequent trial, Monsters.
Since the series began streaming, many A-listers have called for the brothers freedom due to the years of abuse they experienced at the hands of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez.
