The investigation into the death of Liam Payne is still ongoing, with prosecutors seizing phones belonging to staff members at the hotel where the singer had been staying.
The former One Direction star sadly died last month after falling from the balcony of his room at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prosecutors are believed to be considering bringing charges against employees at the hotel.
So far, three people have been arrested in connection to Liam’s death. Reports in Argentina suggest lead prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea is still considering whether to expand the number of suspects.

Sources told Argentinian news website Infobae it is a “possibility” charges will be brought against more people. “To decide this prosecutors have to finish analysing the hotel front desk computer as well as the employees’ phones,” the publication wrote.
It’s believed Liam had asked his friend Rogelio Nores for four bottles of whisky the night before his death and another five early the following morning. Liam then allegedly messaged Nores asking for “six grams”, according to new documents obtained by TMZ.
Nores is one of three men who has been placed under formal investigation as part of an ongoing criminal probe led by Buenos Aires-based prosecutors. Two other men have also been placed under official investigation, but have not been formally charged.
Amid the update in the investigation, a transcript of a 911 call made shortly before Liam’s death has now been released. During the call, a staff member at the hotel said they felt the singer’s life might have been “in danger” after he appeared to be intoxicated while causing a disturbance in the lobby.
“I don’t know whether his life may be in danger. He is in a room with a balcony, and, well, we’re a little afraid,” the employee said.
A police report also alleged hotel staff knew Liam was threatening to use the balcony as a means to flee the building. However, he was still left in his room alone.
Sources told TMZ, Liam had a repeated aversion to being confined in hotel rooms. The Strip That Down hitmaker had used a balcony in an attempt to escape before, according to the publication.
Back in September, Liam’s security confined him to a room in a Florida rental property due to concerns over potential drug use. During that incident, he’s alleged to have attempted to escape via a balcony, using a garden hose to reach the ground.
