United Airlines has partnered with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to offer free, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi on select flights by 2025. This agreement positions United as one of the first major airlines to integrate SpaceX’s satellite technology into its in-flight experience. Testing is set to begin next year, with full service expected to roll out shortly thereafter.
The introduction of Starlink Wi-Fi will allow passengers to enjoy seamless internet access, including browsing, streaming, and gaming, even in remote areas and over oceans where traditional in-flight internet services typically struggle. United’s CEO, Scott Kirby, highlighted that the service will allow passengers to do everything they would on the ground while flying at 35,000 feet, further elevating the airline’s competitive standing with this onboard perk.
