Aubrey O’Day has criticized Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs and the American justice system after the music producer settled a lawsuit with his ex-girlfriend Cassandra Ventura.
Ventura, who is known as Cassie, filed a civil suit against Diddy claiming that he raped her and perpetually abused her for years. Diddy has vehemently denied the allegations. The lawsuit was settled just one day after it was filed.
On her Instagram Story, Aubrey shared an article about the lawsuit and expressed her disappointment at the settlement. She said: “Money > accountability. Every time. Welcome to another chapter of the system is well in place.” She then added a pink heart emoji. Aubrey then shared another article and said: “@cassie we r here.”

Aubrey competed on Diddy’s Making The Band 3 in 2005 and was picked to join girl group Danity Kane under his Bad Boy Records label. However, she was kicked out of the band during the final Making the Band 4 episode in October 2008. Aubrey has spoken out about Diddy’s alleged unwanted sexual advances over the years. She claimed she always rebuffed him.
Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of rape and years of perpetual abuse. The suit was filed in Manhattan’s Federal District Court on Thursday.
Court documents obtained by The Mirror claim that Cassie experienced abuse when she was just 19 at the hands of the producer behind Bad Boy Records. She had signed to that label in 2005 when Diddy was 37. She alleges he “lured [her] into an ostentatious, fast-paced and drug-fuelled lifestyle” that eventually turned into a romantic relationship.
Douglas Wigdor, Cassie’s lawyer, announced a settlement on Friday. He said the deal satisfied both parties but didn’t disclose the terms. Cassie later said the deal was reached “amicably” and thanked her lawyers, family, and fans. Diddy also used the same language and wished “Cassie and her family all the best.”

Cassie, who is now 37, alleged that Diddy, now 54, was “prone to uncontrollable rage” and subjected her to numerous “savage” beatings where he punched, kicked and stomped on her, forcing her to take drugs and have sex with other men as he watched and masturbated.
In 2018, Cassie tried to break up with Diddy. She claims he then forced her into his Los Angeles home and raped her. The court document says: “When she thought she had finally gotten away from her abuser, she went to dinner with Mr Combs. After dinner, he forced her into his home and raped her even though she said ‘no’ many times and tried to push him away.”
The court filing from Thursday alleges that there was a “power imbalance” between the couple as well since Diddy was her boss and was over “two decades her senior.” And, she considered him “one of the most powerful men in the entertainment industry.”
Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, said on Thursday that “Mr. Combs strongly denies these shocking and outrageous allegations.” He added: “For the past six months, Mr Combs has been dealing with Ms Ventura’s constant demand for $30 million. She threatened to write a damaging book about their relationship if he didn’t pay. This was clearly blackmail. Even though she stopped threatening him, Ms. Ventura has now filed a lawsuit full of baseless and outrageous lies. She is trying to ruin Mr. Combs’s reputation and get money.”
Wigdor alleged that Cassie was offered a huge sum of money but she turned it down. She “rejected” Diddy’s efforts to silence her and prevent her from taking legal action. Her filing sought unspecified damages incurred from their relationship and also “compensatory damages including consequential damages, lost wages, earning and all other sums of money, together with interest on these amounts, according to proof.” She also sought compensation for “mental pain and anguish.”
The Mirror contacted Sean Combs for comment. The Mirror wouldn’t normally ID a victim of alleged sexual assault but she has publicly spoken out.
