A California woman was shot to death in her home by her husband while her child was in the house, police said.
Nicole Winans, 43, was shot dead at her home on the 900 block of Academy Street in Woodbridge just after midnight on Friday, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputies said.
Her husband Shane Winans, 50, was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder. The couple was reportedly going through a divorce.

Winans lived in Woodbridge, a small city about 36 miles south of Sacramento. She owned her own salon in nearby Lodi, the Lodi News-Sentinel reported, called Salon Envy.
Hilda Loza, a hairdresser at the salon, said she was “a beautiful person inside and out” and described her as “the best boss.” She had known and worked with Nicole for five years, she said.

Loza said clients stopped by the salon all day to drop off sympathy flowers.
The San Joaquin County Jail inmate record showed her husband Shane Winans was booked on murder and willful cruelty to a child with possible injury or death charges.
Shane is the owner of Anchors Away Tattoo and Body Piercing Parlor in Lodi. He is being held without bail and will appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court on Tuesday.
