Deion Sanders told Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce he needs to take his sons Shedeur and Shilo in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Since becoming the head coach of Colorado, Sanders has emerged as one of the noisiest and most prominent names in college football. His son and quarterback Shedeur has impressed since transferring from Jackson State, steadily building his stock.
Shedeur is projected to come off the board early and could even be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Alongside Floridas Cam Ward, the 22-year-old represents the most intriguing quarterback prospect on offer and plenty of franchises are going to be in the mix to select him.
One such team is the Raiders, who currently own the rights to the No. 2 overall pick given their 2-10 record. The franchise is behind the Jacksonville Jaguars in the order, but the AFC South franchise already has a quarterback in the form of Trevor Lawrence.
Naturally, Sanders believes Las Vegas would be a good landing spot for his son. Speaking at an event in Sin City, he shared the stage with Pierce before declaring his hopes for next years draft.
You are truly the best, Sanders told Pierce. Now I just need you to do one thing: I need you to draft those Sanders boys.

His comment came hours after Shedeur took to social media with an intriguing hint regarding his desire to join the Raiders. He posted an Instagram Story while driving past Allegiant Stadium, posting the video along with the caption: Legendary.
Across the 2024 season, Shedeur has thrown for 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns with eight interceptions on a 74.2 percent completion rate. Meanwhile, Shilo who is two years older than Shedeur is not viewed as an elite draft prospect at safety.
Both Shedeur and father Deion have directly referenced their hopes to land with the Raiders, where their close friend and mentor Tom Brady is a minority owner. The seven-time Super Bowl champion trained with Shedeur at the behest of his father and then signed the quarterback to an NIL deal with Bradys apparel brand in 2022.
While it remains to be seen if Antonio Pierce will still be the head coach come 2025 given the Raiders are riding a seven-game losing streak, rumors are suggesting Sanders could dictate where he wants Shedeur to play a la Eli Manning and John Elway. Back in July, Sanders told reporters he would be happy with Shedeur going to the Raiders.
I love what (Antonio Pierce) brings to the table, Sanders said. I dont want him to lose to the point where he has the ability to get Shedeur. Lets get that straight. I dont want that to happen, I really dont, but I wouldnt mind if, some kind of way, it happens that (Shedeur) is here.
The move would make sense; without a quarterback of the future on the current roster, the Raiders are widely expected to be eyeing a signal-caller and are in position to select Shedeur. During a Las Vegas Aces game earlier this year, Raiders owner Mark Davis even told the young quarterback: Who knows? You might be home right now.
