Greg Norman has confirmed he will be replaced as the chief executive of LIV Golf but has revealed he will remain with the breakaway league in some capacity.
Norman was brought in as the leagues CEO by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) following LIVs formation in 2022 and has remained in charge ever since. In October however, it was revealed by Sports Business Journal that LIV chiefs were looking to replace the Australian as CEO.
And now Norman himself has conceded he will soon be taken away from his role. Is there going to be a new CEO? Yes. There will be a new CEO. Im fine with that, he told Wish TV.

Will I always have a place and be involved with LIV to some capacity? Yes. Ill always have that. Because of the impact that has been created in the game of golf by LIV, Ive had a small, small piece of that, which Im proud of Ive seen it come from a business model on paper to giving birth on the golf course to where it is today.
Norman has been at the center of the saga surrounding the LIV setup and the PGA Tour, with the two circuits locked in a civil war after the Saudi-backed league burst onto the scene. Last June however, the rival tours announced a truce in the way of a framework agreement.
Eighteen months on however the two sides are still yet to officially sign off an agreement, with negotiations continuing. Norman has remained out of the talks for the most part but believes mens professional golf has come a long way since the initial fallout in 2022.
The game is in a much better place today than it was a year ago, he said. Competition was a great thing for them [PGA Tour] too. Now they got an injection from SSG (Strategic Sports Group) of $1.5 billion. Great for the PGA Tour, wonderful.
So everywhere you look In the first couple years, everybody was lambasting us. And now all of a sudden, everybodys trying to follow us. And I think everybody should take a step back and say, Oh my gosh. How good has this been for the game of golf?
The LIV circuit is yet to confirm who will come in for Norman as CEO, but a Sports Business Journal report last month claimed they are on the hunt to bring in Scott ONeil, former Philadelphia 76ers boss. ONeil most recently led Merlin Entertainments, but his departure from the London-based company was confirmed in November.
