After being axed from General Hospital, Kelly Monaco is speaking her truth.
Speculation about the circumstances surrounding Kelly’s exit has been a hot topic amongst fans. A fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, claimed that producer Frank Valentini had a “personal vendetta against Kelly [which] created a hostile workplace.” However, others weren’t willing to let Kelly get away without taking some accountability. Another fan said: [Kelly Monaco was] fired for her actions. There was no vendetta. She did this herself. She phoned in her performances for YEARS. She thought she had more power than she did.”
Kelly, having seen the drama, decided to breaking her silence with a rather cryptic response. She said: Those whom choose to bully behind their power, will suffer their own consequences.”

Since the announcement, Kelly has been careful with her public acknowledgement on the matter. Her heartbreaking final moments with the cast were marked with a goodbye speech which made its rounds on the internet. In the video, she told the soap opera team: Ive been on this lot for 25 years, and you have all been my family not only my second family but my first family and I just thank each and every one of you for all these memories and this experience that Ill take with me for the rest of my life.
The writers ended Kelly’s time on the show after they killed off her character, Sam McCall, who agreed to donate her liver to save Lulu Spencer. However, the risky surgery left Sam in a difficult condition as she attempted a recovery. Unfortunately, she did not make it, leaving a new question: was it a murder? While it appeared to be a death from the complications of recovery and surgery, now the Port Charles citizens are investigating her treatment which might have been messed with.
Nonetheless, Kelly did find a way to sneak in a final sweet gesture. While Sam was being wheeled away to the operating room, she made an “I love you sign” with her fingers, something that Kelly confessed was not scripted, but was a farewell to her beloved role and the fans.
