Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has teased that he may well call upon Arch Manning once again this weekend amid Quinn Ewers struggling with an ankle injury.
Ewers suffered a minor ankle injury after a hip-drop tackle in the Longhorns win over Texas A&M in Rivalry Weekend last time out, with Manning coming in situationally as the starter in the game once again bringing a spark to the offense.
The redshirt freshman has impressed when coming in for Ewers so far this season, scoring 13 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He is also more of a running threat with his athletic abilities, leaving opposition defenses having to adjust when Manning comes into the game.

Sarkisian called upon backup Manning, scoring a 15-yard touchdown against their state rivals while leaving fans excited to see the 19-year-old fully take over as the starter in 2025.
But those fans may well get another glimpse of seeing #16 some more this season, perhaps even in the SEC Championship game against Georgia this weekend.
Sarkisian previously admitted that he has considered using Manning in certain formations, and was asked if he could run similar plays for him this weekend, smiling before stating: Maybe. He added: Were going to run stuff Saturday that we havent run all year because of who we are as a team now. Theres always things that were going to do that are new.
Earlier this week, Manning was told that he could be one of the greatest college quarterback of all-time while drawing comparisons to Tim Tebow with both being in extremely similar situations after their first few years in college football.
Manning and Tebow had both been back-ups to senior starting quarterbacks, with both being used for their running ability before going on to be the starter. Tebow would go on to win the Heisman Trophy and the National Championship winning two with Florida and going on to be seen as one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all-time a feat that many feel is in the realms of possibility for Manning.
