A North Carolina man, on what should have been the best day of his life, was shot and killed just hours after taking his vows with his new wife.
37-year-old Tyrek Burton tragically lost his life on Saturday in Greensboro, North Carolina shortly after his wedding ceremony to his long time girlfriend 33-year-old Kiara Holloway. Officers with the Greensboro Police Department responded just before 9 p.m to the Barber Park Events Center for reports of shots fired. When they arrived they found Burton suffering from life threatening injuries.

The 37-year-old had reportedly been shot 15 times, according to dispatch recordings obtained by WRAL News. Lifesaving measures were taken at the scene in an attempt to resuscitate Burton but they were unsuccessful and Burton died later that night.
Police are still investigating for an exact motive for the shooting but Keisha Satterfield, Burtons cousin, told investigators that the groom died due to a road rage incident that ended in gun violence.
No suspects have been identified yet, police told the Daily Mail, and investigators said detectives are actively investigating what led to the shooting.
A GoFundMe has been set up by Satterfield to help raise money for funeral expenses and to support Burtons family during this difficult time.

The sister of the bride Shaye Holloway posted a tribute to her late brother-in-law on Facebook following the shooting.
Life is so unfair. Life is really too short. How did the day we all been waiting for turn out so bad. A beautiful day ended up so ugly,she said. The worst thing Ive EVER had to witness. I’m just so hurt. I’m hurt for my sister and they girls. Family and friends. I’m lost, I’m confused all while trying to be strong for my sister and nieces.
Police are asking any members of the community who have information about the shooting to contact the Greensboro Police Department.
