The seven children blew out candles and sang happy birthday while calling rapper Diddy, who is in custody on a series of charges related to sexual misconduct.
In the video posted on the Instagram accounts of all 7 children on the evening of November 4, the children gathered around the cake, singing happy birthday to Diddy on his 55th birthday . The youngest daughter Love Combs, 2 years old, sang Happy Birthday while her siblings joined in.
Diddy was moved to tears when his children congratulated him. The 55-year-old rapper’s voice was heard clearly in the video: “I love you all, I love you so much! I can’t wait to see you all. I just want to say that I’m proud of you, especially my daughters. You’re all strong. Thank you for always keeping your spirits up and supporting me.”
The I’ll Be Missing You singer also said he was happy because he had the best family in the world. Diddy said he would see his children again in a few days, hinting at plans for his family to visit him in prison. Diddy is currently being held in a prison in Brooklyn, New York. According to TMZ , this year’s birthday, the Bad Boy Records boss will no longer have a grand birthday party like usual, instead he will have simple prison dishes such as cake, fried eggs, baked sweet potatoes, and chicken rolls.
Diddy is raising seven children. He has son Christian, 26, and twins Jessie and D’Lila, 17, with his late wife Kim Porter, a model who died in 2018 at the age of 47. The rapper also adopted Porter’s 33-year-old son Quincy. The music mogul is also father to son Justin, 30, with stylist Misa Hylton, and daughter Chance, 18, with Sarah Chapman. He welcomed his youngest daughter, Love, with Vietnamese-American woman Dana Tran, in October 2022.
Since Diddy’s arrest, the children have banded together and spoken out in defense of their father. When Diddy first appeared in court on October 10, the six older children held hands and walked to court to show their support.
Diddy (Sean Combs) was arrested by federal police on September 16 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution. The rapper has requested bail of $50 million three times, but the judge has denied it. The rapper’s trial is scheduled for May 5, 2025. If convicted, Diddy faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
