The Israeli Defense Forces claimed that Iran fired missiles into Israel in what may have been a retaliatory strike after the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and others earlier in the week.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency cited the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which reportedly released a statement about the retaliatory strikes into Israel.
“In response to the martyrdom of Martyr Haniyeh, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Martyr Nilfroshan, we targeted the heart of the occupied territories,” the statement read. “If the Zionist regime reacts to Iran’s operations, it will face crushing attacks.”

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters during a press conference on Tuesday that “nearly 200 missiles” were launched by Iran into Israel.
Over 10 million Israelis were reportedly at risk, a harrowing map posted by the IDF shows as it highlighted the location of bomb shelters where people were sheltering.
Photos show missiles exploding over Jerusalem after Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted them. Others made it to Tel Aviv, where a building was reportedly damaged. CNN reporters could be seen fleeing for cover on live TV as the missiles exploded.
Minutes before the attack, the U.S. reportedly sent out warnings to shelter in place or go into bomb shelters, with the warnings reaching
It’s not yet clear if there are casualties from the attack, but some pictures show a damaged building in Tel Aviv. Israeli Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari confirmed that there were “very few” injuries from the attack but didn’t specify how many or their severity.
The U.S. and Israel reportedly warned of severe consequences should an attack from Iran happen, which has some experts fearing World War III after the strike.
President Joe Biden released a statement about the attack stating that he and Vice President Kamala Harris met with their national security team to discuss a response to the attack.

“This morning, @VP and I convened our national security team to discuss Iranian plans to launch an imminent missile attack against Israel,” the president wrote on X. “We discussed how the United States is prepared to help Israel defend against these attacks, and protect American personnel in the region.”
On Truth Social, former President Donald Trump asserted that such an attack would not have occurred under his presidency. He posted, “Look at the World today – Look at the missiles flying right now in the Middle East, look at what’s happening with Russia/Ukraine, look at Inflation destroying the World. NONE OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS PRESIDENT!”
Just before that statement, the Trump and Vance presidential campaign released a formal statement sharing similar sentiments.

The statement reads, “The World is on fire and spiraling out of control. We have no leadership, no one running the Country. We have a non-existent President in Joe Biden, and a completely absent Vice President, Kamala Harris, who is too busy fundraising in San Francisco, a City which she and Gavin Newscum totally destroyed, and staging fake photo ops. No one is in charge and it’s not even clear who is more confused: Biden or Kamala. Neither has any idea what is even going on.
“When I was President, Iran was in total check. They were starved for cash, fully contained, and desperate to make a deal. Kamala flooded them with American cash and, ever since, they’ve been exporting terror all over, and unraveling the Middle East.
“Under ‘President Trump,’ we had NO WAR in the Middle East, NO WAR in Europe, and Harmony in Asia, No Inflation, No Afghanistan Catastrophe. Instead, we had PEACE. Now, War or the threat of War, is raging everywhere, and the two Incompetents running this Country are leading us to the brink of World War III. You wouldn’t trust Joe or Kamala to run a lemonade stand, let alone lead the Free World.
