Jason Kelce admitted to making a fumble in his marriage while offering some words of wisdom to a New Heights listener.

During a bonus episode of his and Travis Kelces podcast, which aired via Wondery+ on Thursday, October 31, a fan called in for advice about how to set a boundary in their relationship. My husband is always on his phone, the caller said, explaining that it happens regardless of whether theyre at home or out with friends. So my question for you is, do you know anyone who does this and have you ever approached them [about it]?

Travis, 35, replied that the caller should mind before Jason, 36, made a candid confession about how a similar situation impacts him and his wife, Kylie Kelce.

I am terrible, I can get so lost in my phone, he admitted. Kylies called me on this multiple times. I think that, speaking as someone that does do this too much, let your husband or the person youre in a relationship [with] know that theyre doing this. Because nine times out of 10, they dont know that theyre [on] their phone as much as they are.

Jason, who retired from the NFL earlier this year, pointed out that everyone understands what its like to be around someone whos too distracted by their phone. Youre trying to be present with somebody and theyre not there, he continued. I have a big issue with this.  I can be here and not hear anything, I have that ability.

For the Kansas City Chiefs athlete, the most important thing is being aware of screen time. But also, you have to understand that this doesnt mean just no [using your] phone, he said, explaining that a person can be doing important stuff sometimes instead of just playing games.

Jason agreed that phone time can be a release after a long day. Sometimes its like, I need to think about nothing but making these three red things line up, thats all I want to focus on, he said before poking fun at a different caller from earlier in the episode who asked how to get over a dry spell in his  life. I was just thinking about problem solving, kids, what are we having for dinner, whats happening in my life. My wife wont have  with me, so I gotta think more about these three lines lining up.

The brothers encouraged the caller to have an open and honest discussion about their concerns. You guys should be able to come to an agreement that when were in certain settings, were not gonna have the phone out, Jason said.

Travis chimed in to add that relationships are a two-way street, saying, Theres gotta be a happy medium, you cant go too extreme on this one.

The Kelce brothers have spoken candidly about their personal lives on New Heights since launching the podcast in 2022. Kylie, whos been married to Jason since 2018, has made multiple appearances on the show  and fans are eagerly waiting for the day Travis girlfriend, Taylor Swift, does the same.

This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell, she told TIME Magazine, referring to the July 2023 episode in which Travis revealed he tried to give Swift his phone number on a friendship bracelet at an Eras Tour show in Kansas City. We started hanging out right after that.
