Prince Harry is preparing for another international journey, possibly just days after his UK visit. Today it was confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will be traveling to South Africa next month for a charity visit with Sentebale, which he co-founded in 2006.
This will be his first trip to the region since 2019, and it appears he’ll be going alone, as there’s no mention of wife Meghan Markle joining him.
This news follows closely on the announcement of Harry’s upcoming appearance at the WellChild Awards in the UK. While no specific date has been set for his African adventure other than early October, it could be imminent as we enter October this Tuesday.
The trip will see Harry rallying world business leaders and philanthropists to promote prosperity in South African communities, with a particular focus on youth. His Sentebale charity, co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006, will bring together leaders from Google’s charitable arm and various other companies and organizations for a series of meetings and discussions in Lesotho and Johannesburg, South Africa, reports the Daily Star.
Harry has always had a passion for philanthropic work in the region, a dedication inspired by his late mother, Princess Diana. Harry and the assembled leaders will collaborate with local organizations and companies already actively seeking solutions to the obstacles preventing young people in the region from thriving, reports the Mirror.
He declared: “Through its work in Lesotho and Botswana, Sentebale has developed a profound understanding of local youth their passions, their concerns, and their extraordinary creativity. These young adults are eager and capable of driving meaningful change, yet significant barriers still stand in their way.”

“As we head towards our 20th anniversary, our ambition has grown, giving us the confidence to bring our skills and experience in designing solutions with young people, and to leveraging our convening power to engage with leading regional players and global funders so we can add Sentebale’s voice to addressing the challenges faced by the next generation in Southern Africa.”
The organization started by focusing on children and young people in Lesotho and Botswana who were affected by HIV/AIDS but has expanded its mission to tackle broader issues affecting youths in the region, including health crises, economic inequality, and environmental threats. Named after the Sesotho word meaning “forget-me-not,” the charity is a tribute to the mothers of the royal founders.

This announcement coincided with Harry taking center stage during various humanitarian events at the United Nations General Assembly this week. He made headlines at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York on Tuesday, delivering a powerful call-to-action to address the severe “pervasive threat” facing children on the internet.
During a panel discussion on the Diana Award, he shared touching words about his late mother, Princess Diana. He wrapped up his New York City trip with a fun-filled appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he was filmed screaming and cursing while navigating a haunted maze with the TV host Thursday.
