Liam Payne’s dad ‘made one last visit to hotel’ before leaving Argentina with son’s body.Vuong

Liam Payne’s dad made one final visit to the site of his son’s tragic death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before heading back to the UK, according to reports.

The One Direction star tragically died aged 31 after he fell from the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo hotel last month. A memorial has been created by fans outside the hotel, featuring a tree trunk adorned with flowers, pictures, and notes.

Geoff Payne flew out to Buenos Aires within days of hearing about his son’s death. He had previously visited the site where his son died but is understood to have made another visit on Tuesday, November 5, to see the tributes left at the scene.

Geoff paused to look at the tributes as some fans watched on nearby. The grieving father also embraced emotional fans who handed him a candle, which he left at the foot of the memorial.

According to the South American news site Infobae, he also visited the cemetery where his son’s body is being kept, accompanied by a security team. Liam’s body was moved to the British Cemetery in the capital last weekend.

Liam’s body has now been allowed to be flown back home. According to the Buenos Aires Times, a flight carrying Liam’s body left Buenos Aires at 1:58pm local time on Wednesday. A video online shows Geoff at the Ezeiza International Airport before he boarded a plane.

While details about Liam’s funeral remain under wraps, it’s expected to draw a large crowd, with his friends, family and fans wanting to pay tribute. A source told RadarOnline.com, “Liam’s funeral is going to be packed with A-listers as he was so well-loved in the showbiz community, and so many of them are so sad about his tragic death. His family want to keep his farewell low-key and respectful, as it’s what Liam would have wanted as he was so down to earth.”

The insider also mentioned: “But there are going to be a series of song tributes from some very big acts as he loved singing and making music until the end.”
