Liam Payne’s fans have called for a memorial to be put in place in the star’s hometown in England after his tragic death.
Fans of the former One Direction member were left devastated when he died after falling from the third floor of his hotel suite in Argentina. Supporters gathered at the Casa Sur Hotel to mourn, placing candles and heartfelt messages in his memory. The grief-stricken community has now launched a passionate campaign to have a lasting monument established in Wolverhampton, England.
Over 2,500 signatures have been collected on a petition urging local authorities to create a memorial, reports the Mirror. The message on their campaign reads: “The recent passing of Liam Payne has touched the hearts of many, not just the unbreakable community of One Direction fans, but people worldwide.

“As individuals who have been profoundly impacted by the loss of this amazing talent, we ask for a permanent structure or mural to be erected in Wolverhampton in his honor.”
It goes on to say: “Liam Payne’s artistry has reached out and touched countless lives. His music was a harmonious blend of inspiration and comfort that resonated in the hearts of millions. His life and legacy deserve to be commemorated in a way that is as enduring as the light he imparted unto the world. By erecting a permanent structure in Wolverhampton, we are ensuring that Liam Payne is remembered for generations to come.”
The organizers behind the petition are calling on city officials to honor Liam Payne with a memorial that captures his essence. They said: “We propose that the city, partnered with local artists, can create a memorial that reflects the spirit and essence of Liam Payne – his roots, his musical journey, and his incredible contribution to the international music community. This act of remembrance can provide comfort and solace to those who have been touched by his life and passing.”
The call for a tribute comes alongside demands for ‘Liam’s Law,’ aimed at safeguarding the mental health of young pop stars.
With over 110,000 supporters, the proposal will be taken to parliament for discussion. The law would mandate regular mental health screenings for young artists, ensure they receive proper rest, have access to mental health professionals on set, and receive ongoing support throughout their careers.

Initiated by an anonymous fan known as Day KV on Change.org on October 18, the petition argues: “The entertainment industry must be held accountable and take responsibility for the well-being of its artists. Resultant issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, substance misuse and even suicide are alarmingly high.”
Meanwhile, Liam’s family is in the process of repatriating his body amidst ongoing toxicology tests. His father Geoff, devastated by the loss, traveled to Argentina immediately after receiving the tragic news, eager to bring his son back home “where he belongs”.
