One dog has found his fur-ever home thanks to the determination of a dedicated adopter.

A man named Drew arrived hours early to a Clear the Shelters event at Austin Pets Alive! in Texas to adopt a dog he had bonded with days earlier. Drew shared his excitement in a video, explaining he was there to adopt Julius, a 2-year-old Shepherd mix, and wanted to ensure Julius could come home with him.

Drew is seen completing the adoption process with his partner. He shares that they had spent time with Julius the previous Sunday and came back specifically to adopt him. After finalizing the adoption, footage shows Julius joyfully running to his new pet parents, wagging his tail and giving them kisses. The clip concludes with Drew, his partner, and Julius posing for photos before leaving the Clear the Shelters event together.

Austin Pets Alive! captioned their post with, “We’re not crying you’re crying 😭,” and announced that Julius has been renamed Bumi by his new owners.

They thanked supporters for helping Central Texas animals and making pets like Bumi’s dreams come true. Clear the Shelters is a nationwide campaign aimed at finding loving homes for pets in need, and since 2015, it has helped over 1 million animals find their forever homes.
