On Saturday, September 21, the 55-year-old singer-songwriter Mariah Carey shared a photo with her 13-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, visiting the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue during their time in Rio de Janeiro.

“So grateful to finally visit Cristo Redentor while here in Rio with Roc and Roe!” Carey captioned her Instagram post. “What a moment ❤️🇧🇷”

In the snapshot, Carey beamed with joy as she stood between her twins, posing under the famous landmark. The “Fantasy” singer wore a relaxed outfit consisting of a loose-fitting vest and striped pants, topped with a cropped leather jacket. She accessorized with a Louis Vuitton cap and stud earrings, her hair styled in a ponytail.

Carey also shared a solo photo of herself beneath the statue, arms outstretched, standing at the bottom of a set of escalators, capturing the moment beautifully.

Carey’s cultural outing with her twins in Rio follows their recent visit to another landmark, the Great Wall of China, in Beijing. “At the Great Wall of China! Someone should’ve warned me about heels 👠,” she joked about the trip on X (formerly Twitter) on September 14.

Mariah shares twins Monroe and Moroccan with her ex-husband, Nick Cannon. Recently, Cannon spoke about how the singer is coping after the loss of her mother, Patricia, and sister, Alison, who both passed away on the same day in August.

“She’s doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances,” Cannon, who was married to Carey from 2008 to 2016, told The New York Post’s Page Six. “But as a family, we just got to be there to support one another, show love.”

He explained that Carey is “having a great time with the kids,” which has been a source of distraction during this difficult time. “That is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her, so it’s outstanding to see them supporting their mom the way they do,” he added.
