Meghan Markle could soon agree to let her two young children meet with King Charles if one condition is met, according to reports.
As rumors of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex purchasing a new home in Portugal continue to circulate, fans have speculated this could be a strategic play to warm relations with the Royal Family, without setting foot in the UK.
Sources have also suggested it could provide their children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – with an opportunity to meet with their grandfather. The youngsters have scarcely gotten to know the UK, having grown up in America after Meghan and Harry left the Royal Family in 2020.

However, it seems that under certain circumstances, Meghan is prepared to agree to a UK visit to see Charles. A source claimed: “Now, if it is deemed safe from a security standpoint, it’s likely she’ll give her blessing for Harry to take Archie and Lilibet to see their grandpa, King Charles, at some point.”
Speaking to Closer Magazine, they added: “And in terms of logistics, having a place in Portugal will make that easier, because Meghan can fly over with the kids without feeling trapped.”
The purchase of the Portugal home has been described as a “shrewd move” for Meghan, with sources adding: “She’s deeply concerned that the Royal Family might manipulate Harry into reintegrating without her, so she needs to be proactive to make sure she’s not isolated or pushed to the side-lines.”
Meghan has only visited the UK twice since 2020, while Harry has made more frequent trips. The Duchess of Sussex last set foot in the UK in September 2022, a visit that included attending the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
Her first visit after leaving the Royal Family was when the family attended the late monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Prince Archie, born in 2019, spent his initial five months in Windsor at Frogmore Cottage before the family relocated to the US.
In contrast, his sister Princess Lilibet has lived her entire life in California, having been born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in 2021.
