Sean “Diddy” Combs gets stripped of yet another honor now that his legacy is tainted with domestic abuse and sexual assault allegations.
After surveillance footage surfaced last month appearing to show Diddy, 54, beating up his then-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura at a hotel in 2016 a collective outrage was ignited. Diddy has landed himself on many people’s canceled list despite his attempt to take accountability with his ill-received apology video that followed the release of the alleged assault clip.
With all of the Bad Boy Records founder’s backlash, the City of Miami will no longer be celebrating Diddy in Magic City. On June 26 The Miami Beach Commission voted to “revoke the proclamation that declares October 13 ‘Diddy Day’ without discussion,” according to The Miami Herald, per Newsweek.

Mayor Philip Levine presented Diddy with the privilege at the Grammy-winner’s REVOLT Music Conference in 2016. Diddy’s Miami holiday was established as “an acknowledgment of his high-profile parties, nightclub appearances, and the music conference Combs launched there with his Revolt TV network,” according to The Guardian.
Diddy not only did business there, but he also had a mansion in the city along with one in Los Angeles, California. Federal agents raided both homes in March amid federal investigations into his alleged involvement with sex trafficking. Those aforementioned raids didn’t result in Diddy being arrested or charged.
The civil suit that Cassie filed against Diddy in November 2023 was the catalyst for the other lawsuits that followed this year, such as the sexual assault lawsuit from his ex-producer Lil Rod. Along with a lawsuit from April Lampros, a woman who claimed that Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her over 20 years ago.
In Cassie’s lawsuit, she alleged that Diddy raped her, and repeatedly abused her throughout their 10-year-long relationship – they dated from 2008 to 2018.

Court documents obtained by The Mirror US show that Cassie claimed she suffered abuse at the hands of Diddy when she was just 19. She inked a deal with his record label in 2005 when Diddy was 37.
Cassie said that he “lured [her] into an ostentatious, fast-paced and drug-fuelled lifestyle” which later turned into a romantic relationship.
The two settled the lawsuit rather quickly. Just one day after Cassie filed they reached an agreement. Cassie announced in a joint statement with Diddy in November that she “decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.”
She added: “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
