Angela Holland and her son Amarus were shot dead at their home in Greenwood, Mississippi
A Mississippi mom and her baby son were shot dead as they slept. Angela Holland, 34, and her son Amarus, 11 months, were shot dead at their home at 1008 Charlie Cooley Avenue in Greenwood in the early hours of Monday morning.
It’s believed the mother and son were shot through the bedroom window. Greenwood Police Chief Terrence Craft said both Angela and Amarus were pronounced dead at 3.41 am.
In the death notice, Angela was remembered as “a devoted mother” and Little Amarus was described as “a bright and loving young soul whose loss has left an unimaginable void in the lives of all who knew them.”

The death notice states: “Angela became known for her compassionate heart. In addition, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering kindness.

“She touched the lives of many through her generosity, warmth, and gentle spirit. Her son, Amarus, was full of life, curiosity, and joy. A bright light to everyone around him, Amarus loved exploring the world and brought happiness to his family and friends with his infectious smile and playful nature.
“The bond Angela and Amarus shared was a special one, and they will be remembered for the love they radiated and the joy they brought to those fortunate enough to know them.” The funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized.
