It’s been nearly a decade since a random act of violence Amanda Gordon’s son away from her and she still nine years later is searching for answers.
11-year-old David McIntyre was innocently playing video games with his brother CJ Nov. 1, 2015 when a gunman walked in the door of their St. Oliver, Pennsylvania home and open fired on the brothers. CJ managed to survive the shooting but David tragically lost his life.
“It enrages me because it was a nice day that day. Nobody saw nothing, nobody heard nothing, like I heard the gunshots, and I was down the hall in my bedroom,” Gordon told CBS News. “It’s very tough because nobody deserves to die at the hands of another person, and especially an 11-year-old boy who was innocent, doing nothing, playing video games.”

Even nine years later, the mother holds out hope that the person responsible for her son’s death will be brought to justice.
“I will always have hope. I mean, there are times I lose my faith, but I will always have hope,” Gordon told WTAE News.
She is now pleading with the public for anyone with even a small piece of knowledge about the shooting to come forward.
“Now is the time. You know, even if you’re sitting there toying with, I don’t know, maybe. Yes, no, maybe so, that little piece of evidence or information could be the most vital piece that breaks the case open,” she stated in an emotional appeal to WTAE.
Despite the crime being nearly a decade old, Allegheny County Police say that the case is still “open and active.” The gunman’s identity and motive for the shooting have remained a mystery, and every day, Gordon struggles not only with the tragic loss of her son but also with the lack of closure.
“To me, the natural circle of life is you bury your parents. Your parents don’t prepare you to bury your children, and whoever knows something, I wish they’d come forward,” Gordon told CBS.
Gordon is urging anyone with relevant information to call Allegheny County Police at 1-833-ALL-TIPS, assuring anonymity for those who come forward. This Thursday marks the nine-year anniversary of the shooting.
