Newly appointed Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman plans to address Erik and Lyle Menendezs fight for freedom.
Nathan, who recently beat out incumbent Los Angeles DA George Gascón for the elected position, spoke to TMZ about what he plans to do with the Menendez brothers cases. The Menendez brothers are infamously known for being convicted of murdering their parents in 1996. Hypothetically, if the Menendez brothers resentencing case were to be presented to him on December 2, his first day in office, hed familiarize himself with it in detail. Nathan would go over all documents and speak to all who were involved.
Even though George has already recommended resentencing, Nathan still plans to look over the case and the law for himself before he decides how hell proceed.

Despite Nathan wanting to go over the case, time is of the essence since the Menendez brothers’ resentencing hearing is scheduled for December 11. This means that Nathan has slightly over a week to come to a decision.
When it comes down to it, Nathan will ultimately decide if Erik and Lyle will walk free. The judge could decide to give the siblings a possible release on parole or change their conviction so theyll be freed ASAP due to time served.
The Menendez brothers attorney Mark Geragos is in support of Erik and Lyle being freed. While Nathan is interested in the case, he wont be making it “some big political stunt” like George. Nathan shaded him “for sitting on the case until he was so far down in the polls he thought it might help him win reelection,” TMZ reported.
California Governor Gavin Newsom can pardon Erik and Lyle or commute their sentences, which means that the issue can be resolved before Nathan takes office.
However, if this doesnt happen, then Nathan will give his full attention to the Menendez brothers resentencing case if hes hit with it on day one. The Express Tribune reported that reality star Kim Kardashian partnered with Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story creator Ryan Murphy to “advocate for prison reform and clemency for the Menendez brothers.”
